My Politically-Incorrect Cracks of Time Tips

by The Head Geek on August 16, 2011

“Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

Always have an MP3 player or CD player handy and when you find you are doing something menial that listening to a recording will not hamper, do it!

If you are the boss it is more important to manage your time, your time is worth a lot of money. Remember, time is one asset that cannot be replenished

As an example, I avoid most meetings, I have eliminated almost all phone calls, emphasizing emails instead, (besides, you now have a record) and (try) to stick to a schedule that provides maximum productivity.

I encourage everyone to have a time-efficient mindset, one that allows you to use those Cracks of Time. One of my biggest obstacles is a 10 minute phone call that turns into a 30 minute conversation. To curb this, I have started to set boundaries from the outset, telling them that I only have a few minutes right now and we can catch up on ‘stuff’ later and then stick to that precept.

Your politically-incorrect Cracks of Time approach to time management might upset people, but you will find that you get respect from those who realize how valuable your time is worth. And as a bonus, you can charge more for your services because they know you are there to get things done.

If you can block out a mere 20 minutes where you can focus on a project, you can sometimes get 2 hours of work done.

It has been awhile…

by The Head Geek on April 10, 2011

OK. Lets get back on track. I built this site some months ago with the intent of sharing how I get so much done in a day. Many of my peers constantly comment on how much more I can accomplish in the same time period than them. There is a technique that I have used for many years that allows me to not only multi-task effectively and efficiently but also accomplish more in the same time frame as most other people.

I am going to share that technique in the next couple days, I need to update my notes and get it into a succinct and concise package.

Jim
